Ill Dragun Rhys, Kemr in the age of AIDS
Perhaps Ill Dragun Rhys could be set off from Y Ddraig Goch, and the
rules of heraldry saved, by a thin gold border around the lower half
of the dragon, thus preventing color-on-color anywhere.
I was looking over the Brithenig alphabet the other day, and wondering
what the names of the non-Brithenig letters might be. I still don't have
most of them, but it seemed plain to me that "V" is called "fi saesonig"
and frequently just "fi", and is thought of as a foreign variant
(I almost wrote "fariant") of "F".
And then another thought struck me. AIDS, and the Human Immunodeficiency
Virus that causes it, undoubtedly have proper Brithenig names; but it
seems to me that the latter is referred to primarily by its *English* initials,
to wit,
ACH I FI!
