The Scots Tung

Though not strictly "Celtic", "A wee historie o Scots" (in Scots) at
http://www.umist.ac.uk/UMIST_CAL/Scots/hist-s.htm may be of
interest to listmembers. Much of its history is applicable
to the Brithenig Universe.

Since Scotland over *There* went partly Protestant but England
did not (I've got a handle on *cuius regio eius religio* now, Andrew),
the influence of the English Bible was not so strong in Scotland,
and with the separate Parliament, "cannie Scots wisna taen in bi the
fashion fur mim-mou'd Suddrone [Southron]".

The slogan at the top of the Brithenig page is neatly matched
by one from the Wee Historie: "[W]e ainlie hauf a leid [language] we'r
ainlie hauf a fowk, an gin [if] we tyne [lose] Scots, we'll tyne
oorsels."
