Pandora's Box
Nothing like a good heresy to spark conversation, John Calvin said as he
burnt a few unitarians at the stake!
What I make of the group's responses to my-letter-and-Ray's-response-to-it
is that Kemr has become much more than a fantasy. It is in fact a living
breathing entity, skinny legs, warts and all. And religion, for better or
worse, is an integral part of the landscape. If, as Andrew says on the
Brithenig Page, the Church in Kemr is not above criticising the excesses of
political (and one would hope and expect ecclesial) authority, I for one am
ready to apply for citizenship. Of course, whether the Kemrese need a gay
druid in their midst remains to be seen ;-)
Andrew: I would very much like to see a Teach Yourself Brithenig down the
road, complete with cassettes. I know the enormous amount of work and
commitment entailed in this sort of project, and I wouldn't suggest it if I
weren't willing to help with it in terms of time, talent and money.
Although I have been slow to learn the language, I "believe" in it.
Brithenig is the most convincing model language I have encountered, and
LL's notwithstanding, it is a stately, elegant language. Please keep my
suggestion and offer in mind.
I have halted work on my Kemrese colony "New Kemr" in favor of my religion
project and my as-yet unborn webpage (which will feature both Latter-Day
Druidism and Brithenig prominently, though not in such a way as to link
them).
Regards,
Peter
I still miss my man...
but my aim is getting better.
