Unix begat the kernel;
the kernel begat the libraries;
the libraries begat the utilities;
the utilities begat the ten thousand apps.

The ten thousand apps
  carry semantics on their backs,
  and syntax on their fronts.

This combination makes harmony.

People detest geeks, nerds, and dweebs,
and yet hackers and wizards use these titles.

Thus, perhaps, things lose but something wins.
